DDIL
DDIL stands for Denied, Degraded, Intermittent and Limited: the four ways a network can fail to give a unit the connection it planned on.
Context
A link can be denied by jamming or loss, degraded by noise, intermittent because it comes and goes, or limited because it is narrow. Most real conditions are a mix. Systems designed for continuous high-bandwidth connections tend to fail in all four.
How Gridnorth handles it
Gridnorth is designed to run locally, to shrink messages with EXI, and to queue them until a link opens. See DDIL messaging for measured message sizes and for what has not yet been tested.
