Nexus Core
Nexus Core is an open-source framework of cryptographic and architectural primitives for organizations with a defined membership and a chain of accountability. It is a separate codebase from Gridnorth.
What it is for
Organizations with a hierarchy need communication that outsiders cannot read, that leadership can audit within the community, and that the community owns. Consumer messengers give the first, enterprise platforms give the second, and neither gives the third. Nexus Core aims at all three, by explicit cryptographic design rather than by vendor policy.
What it provides
- Identity: member registration, key management and status transitions, bound to an organizational role.
- Crypto: libsodium wrappers for signing, key exchange, encryption and password hashing. All operations run on the client.
- Hierarchy: a role engine, message routing and permission resolution, including chain-of-command activation.
- Actions: a framework for the things a community does together, such as orders, taskings and acknowledgements.
- Credentials: QR credential generation and verification with device binding.
- UI primitives: headless React components with no theming.
Status
Nexus Core is in early development, currently at the cryptographic primitives stage. Installable packages are planned with the first tagged release, v0.1.0-crypto. The code, roadmap and licence (MIT) are on GitHub.
